NDBTC 30Jun26 Closes 30 Sep26 |
The NDBTC of NSW proposes the following three NOMs: 1. That the Secretary of the NBTCA continue in the role of Editor for the completion, compilation and publication of the **5th Australian Bull Terrier Book**. 2. That the President and Secretary of the NBTCA be authorised to determine the publisher, obtain and accept the most suitable quotation for publication, and set the retail sale price of the book. 3. That, prior to publication, a proof copy of the book be distributed to the Secretaries of all affiliated Bull Terrier clubs for final proofreading and review. Any comments, corrections or suggested amendments are to be submitted to the NBTCA Secretary by the closing date determined by the Secretary. Following that date, the publication shall proceed without further review or amendment unless approved by the NBTCA Executive. **Rationale for NOMs** The 5th Australian Bull Terrier Book has been a long-standing NBTCA project and is intended to serve as an important historical record and resource for the Australian Bull Terrier community. Recent correspondence from the Bull Terrier Club of Victoria (BTCV) has raised several concerns regarding the compilation and publication of the book. While affiliated clubs are entitled to provide feedback and raise legitimate matters for consideration, the volume, tone and ongoing nature of the correspondence have become counterproductive to the timely completion of the project. The club further notes that all members and affiliated clubs are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner. The Dogs Victoria Code of Conduct, including Clause 20.6 relating to member conduct and communications is relevant in that State. The NDBTC of NSW is concerned that continued debate regarding perceived inconsistencies and editorial decisions is delaying publication and diverting attention from the objective of delivering the completed book to the Bull Terrier community. This motion is intended to establish a clear and final process for completion of the book, provide certainty regarding editorial and publication decisions, and ensure that all affiliated clubs are afforded a final opportunity to review the publication before it proceeds to print. The NDBTC of NSW considers that it is in the best interests of the Council, its affiliated clubs and the wider Australian Bull Terrier community that the project now be brought to completion without further unnecessary delay.
